This is Sigrún’s home ground: the lava fields and sea cliffs around Grindavík, where she grew up and where her search-and-rescue team trains. You’ll hike moss-covered lava that’s eight hundred years old, peer into a lava tube she mapped as a teenager, and follow a cliff line where fulmars wheel below your feet.
It ends at the harbour café her mother has run for thirty years, with the fisherman’s soup recipe she still refuses to write down. You’ll be eating beside actual fishermen. Dress for weather; the soup fixes everything.
