We review every host personally: a video call, a licence and insurance check, and a look at your reviews. Most hosts are live within 5 days. We’ve emailed you the details.
Listing is free. We take a 15% commission only when you get a booking — you keep 85%. Example: a guest pays 20,000 ISK, the LedByLocals fee is 3,000 ISK, and you earn 17,000 ISK. No subscription, no listing fees, no exclusivity.
Iceland-based independent hosts and guides: solo guides, families, and small companies rooted here. If the person in the photos is the person who shows up, you belong. Resellers, aggregators and mass-market operators are not accepted.
Three steps: a 30-minute video call with our team, a check of your required licences (e.g. Ferðamálastofa registration where applicable) and insurance, and a look at your existing reviews. Most hosts go live within 5 days of applying.
No. We require no exclusivity — keep every channel you have. LedByLocals reaches the traveller who is specifically searching for small-group experiences with real Icelandic locals.
You do, always. Prices are in ISK and shown to guests exactly as you set them — no service fee is added on top of your price. Our only rule is that group sizes stay small (12 or fewer; most hosts choose 6–8).
Travellers send a booking request; you confirm or decline. Nothing is charged until you confirm. Your payout is always visible up front: price, minus the 15% platform fee, equals what you earn — shown in ISK on every listing you manage.
